ZOYA ZACKAVEC, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Mental Health Professional with over 10 years of clinical experience. I provide individuals, couples and families face-to-face and telehealth psychotherapy services.  I am very passionate about helping individuals work through life’s challenges and achieve a healthy sense of balance, self-understanding and self-love in all aspects of their life.

Additionally, I am the Regional Director of Social Work Consultation and work in the long-term care sector, providing consultation and supervision to social service staff working in skilled care, nursing and specialized mental health rehabilitation facilities. I ensure that staff are in compliance with Federal and State Regulations that govern the long-term care industry, and provide educational seminars and in-service trainings on Dementia Care/Alzheimer’s Disease, Advance Directives, Abuse Prevention, Verbal De-Escalation & Conflict Resolution, Behavior Management and Trauma Informed Care.

I am also a fencing coach and referee; I coach kids ages 4-14 years old throughout the Chicago area, and I referee fencing tournaments all throughout the Midwest.  

Some of my passion projects include mentoring youth and helping them develop mindfulness skills and mental strength, in addition to doing motivational speeches for athletes looking to take their training to the next level.  I also offer tutoring for high school kids looking to improve their writing skills.   

I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (Bachelor of Arts in Communication) and Loyola University Chicago (Master of Social Work) and am fluent in English, Russian and Spanish.
